Spotify down in eastern U.S. and parts of Europe to start off Monday

Spotify has a case of the Mondays.

What you need to know

  • Downdetector shows Spotify outages in the eastern U.S. and parts of Europe.
  • Issues began getting reported around 8 am eastern time.
  • The majority of the reports are from users having trouble streaming music or opening the website.

The last thing you want is to start your week off in silence. Unfortunately, many of us are waking up this Monday morning to find out that Spotify is down. According to Downdetector, users began having issues with the popular music streaming service around 8 am eastern time this morning. Right now, the most reported problems are with music streaming and the website.

The map shows the areas most affected by the outage are on the east coast of the U.S., the southern half of the UK, and the Netherlands. This is probably the last thing any of us wanted to start our week, especially as most of the world is going into lockdown over the coronavirus and being forced to work from home.

How are we supposed to chase away the Monday blues without our work at home playlist? For me personally, I'm able to stream with the app, but getting the website to load is extremely sluggish. If you're having trouble with the website, you may want to try another option for streaming, such as your phone or smart speaker.
